“The city’s looming eviction crisis could cause a surge of children in the shelter system, homeless advocacy groups warn. Impact: Two-thirds of low-income renters with children in the New York metro area reported slight or no confidence in their ability to make their next rental payment on time, according to a new policy brief from the Family Homelessness Coalition and the Citizens’ Committee for Children. A third of all renters with children reported not paying or deferring rent payments over recent months.”
