  • 3x The infant mortality rate is three times greater for Black babies compared to white babies in NYC.

  • 22,000 children under the age of 14 live in New York City homeless shelters. And 95% of families with children living in shelters are Black or Hispanic.

  • < 50% of all third through eighth-graders in NYC public schools score at or above reading and math grade levels.

  • 1 in 4 NYC children (or 400,000) grow up in households below the federal poverty line.
