“CCC applauds the New York City Council for its Response to the FY’17 Preliminary Budget. The Council’s priorities put front and center the needs of NYC’s children, youth and families. Among the many critical proposals put forward in the Council’s Response, CCC is particularly pleased that the Council urges the Mayor to: ensure pay parity for the early childhood workforce, restore and baseline SONYC summer programming, provide free lunch for all public school students, expand youth employment, support discharge grants and normative activities for children in foster care, as well as expand the Child Care Tax Credit and non-custodial Earned Income Tax Credit. We look forward to continuing to work with the New York City Council and Mayor de Blasio to bring these priorities to fruition and achieve a more equitable city in which all children, youth and families thrive.”
