On March 30th, Caitlyn Passaretti provided written testimony to the Committee on Public Safety Oversight Hearing regarding Mayor Adam’s Blueprint to End Gun Violence. This testimony highlights the multiple areas of concern in this Blueprint because it increases criminalization, lacks structures of accountability, and targets Black and Latinx New Yorkers. CCC instead urges the Mayor to focus on prevention, care, and investments in youth services, opportunities, employment, housing, education, and other social services to address gun violence.
