On Friday, June 23rd, Caitlyn Passaretti, Policy and Advocacy Associate, and Marija Drobnjak, Senior Research Associate for Data Resources, submitted written testimony to the NYC City Council Committee of Education on bill Int. 0857-2022 and transportation needs of students in foster care. The testimony highlights the importance of disaggregated and accessible data to ensure students in foster care are receiving the support they need. Additionally, it is the DOE’s responsibility to ensure transportation for students in foster care, which has yet to come to fruition.
