On Wednesday, March 15th, Policy and Advocacy Associate Rebecca Charles provided oral testimony at the New York City Council Hearing on the Preliminary Budget for Education. Alice Bufkin, Rebecca Charles, Caitlyn Passaretti, and Jenny Veloz then later submitted written testimony with a more elaborate list of CCC’s education priorities, highlighting much needed investments to stabilize and expand the early childhood education system; ensure education access for immigrant students, students in shelter, and student in foster care; address behavioral health needs of students; enhance school cafeterias citywide; and reject the criminalization of students.
