The Campaign for Healthy Minds Healthy Kids submitted a letter to Gov. Hochul regarding a lawsuit that was filed March 31 in U.S. District Court against the State Department of Health and Office of Mental Health.

While said agencies are “promising” new rates for children’s mental health services on October 1, 2022, for certain home and community-based services, providers do not know what funding will be available to them and probably will not receive such information until months after that date. A lawsuit could have been avoided if the needs of our young people, families, and the behavioral health workforce had been prioritized.
