Daryl Hornick-Becker, CCC’s Policy and Advocacy Associate submitted written testimony to the New York City Council’s Committee on Education highlighting the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the city’s schoolchildren.

Specifically, he mentioned the need to fund summer youth programs to combat learning loss, and for the city to focus it recovery efforts on vulnerable student populations such as students in temporary housing, students with disabilities, multilingual learners, and students in foster care.
