CCC Testimony: Supportive Housing In New York City

Testimony & Public Comments

January 7, 2017

On January 19, 2017, CCC testified before the City Council General Welfare Committee oversight hearing on supportive housing in New York City.  CCC testified about the need to increase the number of supportive housing units available for homeless families and youth aging out of foster care.

CCC’s recommendations included:

  • The State Legislature and the Governor must finalize and sign the MOU to release the nearly $2 billion in funding for affordable and supportive housing as soon as possible.
  • The City and State should ensure that the new supportive housing units include a sufficient number of units for families with children and youth aging out of foster care.
