CCC submitted testimony for the New York City Council Committees on Finance and on Mental Health, Developmental Disability, Alcoholism, Substance Abuse and Disability Services hearing on March 20, 2017 regarding the Fiscal Year 2018 Preliminary Budget.

CCC supported the Preliminary Budget proposal to invest $3.1 million to expand the Cure Violence Program, which helps to decrease gun violence. CCC urged the administration to go further in the Executive Budget by strengthening mental health services, particularly those located on-site at schools, and by restoring and baselining programs supported by the City Council.
