CCC Annual Report: 2014-2015

This year was yet another example of how much CCC can accomplish when we work together to lend our voices to children. Locally, we have seen the continued expansion of pre-k and middle school afterschool, and we helped save 17 after-school programs and summer camp for 34,000 children. We also secured funding for child care programs, to bring free breakfast to elementary school classrooms, to help public schools comply with state physical education requirements, and to enable thousands of youth to participate in the summer youth employment program. At the state level, we drew attention to the need to raise the age of criminal responsibility and to ensure that Medicaid reforms address children’s mental health needs. None of these accomplishments would be possible without the commitment of our Board and Advocacy Council members and the expertise of our staff. Thanks to the support of so many individuals and organizations, CCC continues to bring about positive change for children and families.
