Urge State Leaders to Invest in The Child and Family Wellbeing Fund
Too often, families who are struggling with unmet needs due to poverty or economic insecurity are reported for child neglect, resulting in investigations instead of family supports. New York leaders must recognize the urgent need to invest in upstream prevention like housing, child care, cash assistance, and other essential supports to prevent child welfare involvement.
The Child and Family Wellbeing Fund is designed to fund community-led projects that support families, reduce their risk of child welfare involvement, and prioritize family preservation, reunification, and healing. Resources from this fund would be available for communities across New York State with the highest rates of child welfare involvement.
Please use this Take Action tool to urge state leaders to support the Child and Family Wellbeing Fund and strengthen local community programs that directly serve New York’s families.
