In spring 2026, CCC’s YouthAction interns conducted street interviews with young New Yorkers across Washington Square Park, Macombs Dam Park, and Fort Greene Park to gather recommendations on improving community safety across the boroughs.
They analyzed responses to identify key priorities and produced this video report, highlighting youth perspectives on safety concerns and solutions to issues they found important.
The findings were used to support advocacy efforts around the following bills related to youth justice and community investment:
These bills also align with CCC’s legislative advocacy priorities.
Interns later participated in a City Hall lobby day, meeting with NYC Council Members Alexa Avilés and Tiffany Cabán to share their work and advocate for policy change.
