Alice Bufkin, CCC’s Associate Executive Director for Policy and Advocacy, testified February 8, 2022 to the New York State FY 2023 Joint Legislative Budget Hearing for Health urging New York’s elected leaders to prioritize the health and well-being of the state’s children.

New York’s children and families continue to experience hardships across nearly every aspect of their lives. COVID-19 has exacerbated racial and economic inequities, underscoring profound disparities and long-unaddressed needs that require significant action and investment. With the addition of new federal funding for recovery, now is the time to invest in our children’s health by:

  • Addressing the behavioral health crisis
  • Improving Outcomes for Young Children with Developmental Delays and Disabilities
  • Improving Health Coverage Options for Families and Strengthen New York’s Public Health Infrastructure
