Examining the City’s Response and Delivery of Services to Migrants

Testimony & Public Comments

December 20, 2022

On Tuesday, December 20, Policy and Advocacy Associates Rebecca Charles, Juan Diaz, Caitlyn Passaretti, and Jenny Veloz submitted written testimony to the New York City Council Committee of the Whole  for an Oversight Hearing on Examining the City’s Response and Delivery of Services to Migrants. Staff testified on behalf of CCC’s support for the city to support the immediate needs of new arrivals and identify systemic changes that can support the long-term wellbeing of immigrant children and families. Supports for migrant families should include translation services offered through community-based organizations to help spread information about aid and legal support, addressing long-standing issues in our housing system to make access easier for families in need and help streamline the ability to transition into stable housing, expanding access to anti-hunger supports, and more.
