CCC’S New York State Budget Recommendations For State Fiscal Year 2013-2014

Budget Analysis & Priorities

March 7, 2013

CCC responded to the New York State Fiscal Year 2013-2014 Executive Budget proposals with Budget Recommendations for the Governor and State Legislature.

CCC supported budget proposals such as increasing the minimum wage, providing state support for full-day universal pre-kindergarten, increasing School Aid and expanding the Juvenile Justice Close to Home initiative to upstate counties.  CCC opposed proposals that would cut funding for public health programs (such as WIC and asthma prevention), altered the funding mechanisms for the Early Intervention program, cut funding for sexually exploited children and eliminated the Court Appointed Special Advocates program. CCC recommended that the State fund more Family Court Judges, restore resources to the Family Court, pass the New York State Dream Act and increase funding for child care.

CCC’s Budget Recommendations to the Governor and New York State Legislature: State Fiscal Year 2013-2014 details all of CCC’s recommendations made in response to the State Executive Budget that we advocated to have incorporated in the State Fiscal Year 2013-2014 Adopted Budget.
