Alice Bufkin, CCC’s Associate Executive Director for Policy and Advocacy, testified on June 22 in front of the New York State Attorney General’s Public Hearing on Mental Health.
She urged the state to address the children’s behavioral health crisis by increasing support for children’s mental health services by:
Increasing overall behavioral health funding for children and families
Addressing chronic workforce shortages
Addressing deeply inadequate rates that have harmed family access to care
Hold health insurance companies accountable for meeting contractual obligations and enforce mental health parity laws on behalf of children and youth.
