We Must Invest More in Children’s Behavioral Health Care
Families across the state are facing a severe mental health crisis. Waitlists for mental health services are excruciatingly long, leaving families waiting months for services that their children need today. Children with serious mental health needs are ending up in Emergency Rooms and hospitals, and are then being discharged into communities that don’t have the mental health resources to support them.
Our State leaders must act now to dramatically expand its investment in the continuum of children’s behavioral health services, and must support a behavioral health workforce that can meet the needs of young people and their families.
Join other advocates from across the state in urging our state leaders to invest in the behavioral health supports New York’s children need.
