Urge the Enactment of The Preserving Family Bonds Act
Parent child relationships are instrumental in child development. However, the current family court system does not allow for any flexibility when maintaining familial relationships during an adoption process. This bill provides the flexibility necessary to meet the unique needs of individual children. New York must do all in its power to minimize the trauma of adoption and family separation – creating an opportunity for parents to remain in their children’s lives when it is in the child’s best interest is an essential method to accomplish this.
The Preserving Family Bonds Act has passed the legislature, now we need the Governor to sign into law!
