With Keeping Track Online, you can search CCC’s extensive database for statistics on 200 different indicators of child well-being and community and family life in New York City. The easy-to-use search function helps you find data on the citywide, borough, or community district level. You can even search for multiple indicators in multiple communities at the same time.
Keeping Track Online provides data in eight broad categories. Information on demographics, economic conditions, housing and community life, health, child care, youth issues, and child welfare can be found in the Community District Data section.
Information on education can be found in the Education Data section. Education data are presented in their own section because they are organized by school districts, which are different from community districts. With the Community District Data section plus the Education Data section, Keeping Track Online aims to present a thorough and comprehensive picture of what life is like for children growing up in New York City.
Keeping Track Online catalogues the facts in a way that makes it easier to assess the results produced by various policy and budget proposals, evaluate quality of life initiatives or service system reforms and evaluate the cost and long-term impact of community development and large public works projects. The data help policymakers, service providers, advocates and others think strategically about the city’s future as they make decisions about investments today. We hope New Yorkers will use the data in Keeping Track Online as the foundation from which to build lasting improvements for all children.
