Fifteen years ago, CCC saw the need for a comprehensive database that would be updated regularly to improve access to factual information about child well-being and to increase awareness of risks and opportunities facing New York City's children. This effort became Keeping Track of New York City's Children. Keeping Track has become an indispensable asset for citizens, elected and appointed officials, academics, foundations, and service providers seeking to understand and improve the lives of New York City's children. With the release of the 8th edition of Keeping Track, CCC continues to update the Keeping Track database and expand the types of data collected. We encourage you to use Keeping Track to learn more about New York City children and to take action on their behalf.
In 2006, CCC debuted Keeping Track Online, an interactive database that allows users to customize data searches of over 400 different indicators of child well-being in New York City. This easy to use search function helps users find data at the citywide, borough, or community district level and permits searches of multiple indicators in multiple communities at the same time.
Keeping Track Online provides data in eight broad categories: demographics, economic conditions, housing and community life, health, early care and education and out-of-school time services, youth and child welfare. Indicators in these categories can be found in Community District Data. Information on education can be found separately in Education Data, as these data are organized by school districts, rather than community district.
We are committed to making Keeping Track Online as useful as possible, and welcome your feedback and suggestions. User Feedback Survey.
